The C.G. O’Kelly Library’s Liaison program’s goal is to provide specialized subject specific reference and collection development assistance to the faculty, staff, and students at Winston-Salem State University.

1. To provide research assistance to the faculty, staff, and students.

2. To assist the faculty in keeping the library’s collection current and relevant.

3. To take an active role in enhancing academic programs across the system.

4. To increase librarians awareness of faculty needs.

Library Liaison

A library liaison is appointed to an academic department based on the librarian’s academic background as well as library needs. The liaison serves as the primary contact for assistance with, or information about any library service or issue. The liaison librarian also informs faculty members about changes and additions in library services.

Developing relationships between the Library and academic departments is a core responsibility for library liaisons. The Library liaison activities serve as an essential contribution to the ongoing mission of the Library in supporting instruction and research across the curriculum by establishing communication with academic departments.

All policies will be posted on the Library’s website and reviewed annually in July.
